Cinderella and the Three Enchanted Gifts Part 2
That evening, Cinderella secretly sewed one enchanted pink button inside each of her stepbrothers' favourite shirts.
The following morning, neither young man noticed the strange new button when he dressed.
But the moment both shirts were fastened—
FLASH!
Pink light surrounded them.
The brothers cried out as their bodies rapidly transformed. Their faces softened, their hair grew long, and their masculine figures reshaped themselves into those of two curvaceous young women.
Their clothes changed with them.
Shirts and trousers became neat, old-fashioned maid uniforms, complete with white aprons and sensible shoes.
Seconds later, two completely transformed young women stood where Cinderella's stepbrothers had been.
"What have you done to us?!" one screamed.
"This can't be happening!" cried the other, staring into the mirror.
They still remembered exactly who they were.
They remembered being Cinderella's cruel, lazy stepbrothers. They remembered ordering her to cook their meals, wash their clothes, polish their boots and clean their rooms.
But the buttons had placed another enchantment upon them.
Whenever Cinderella gave them a reasonable household instruction, they found themselves compelled to carry it out.
"Perhaps you could start by cleaning the kitchen," Cinderella said, testing them.
Both transformed brothers immediately grabbed cleaning cloths.
"No!" protested one, furiously scrubbing the table despite himself. "I don't want to clean!"
"Neither do I!" complained the other as she picked up the broom. "Why am I sweeping?!"
Cinderella slowly smiled.
For years, they had lounged around while she waited on them.
Now their positions had been reversed.
From that day onward, the transformed stepbrothers became Cinderella's household maids. They cooked, cleaned, washed clothes, made beds and performed the ordinary chores they had once considered beneath them.
They retained their memories, personalities and ability to speak their minds, so they frequently complained about their predicament.
But Cinderella no longer had to be their servant.
For once, they were doing their fair share of the work.
And every time one of them grumbled about aching feet or endless housework, Cinderella couldn't help remembering all the times they had laughed while making her do exactly the same thing.
