William refused to accept his new identity as a woman. He refused to wear women's clothes and underwear. He refused to wear makeup and do his hair. He refused to be ignored and pushed to the sidelines just because he was now a woman at work. He was going to stand up for himself and make sure he was heard. That didn't go well for him at work; they demoted him and put him in a secretarial pool where he could moan and whine like the women he was with about their lives and their problems with men.
